This upgrade involved choosing right approach ranging from Greenfield mechanism to DMO of SUM. Post upgrade activities included conversion of reports to EPM10 methods and adjusting VBAs and also modifying BADIs to use newer APIs and interfaces. Report performance increased by more than 100% post upgrade to EPM10 on HANA

·               Bill of Material (BOM)

This solution involves exploding the external finished goods to their bill of materials, taking in consideration the external forecasted finished goods volumes. The explosion produces billions of records to uncover the internal demand (Internal Sales and COGS) between plants. The business benefits relate to figuring total purchasing and spend demand by commodity by currency. It will allow treasury to do commodity and currency hedging

·               BPC – Hyperion Reconciliation

Developed validations and transformations to extract data out of BPC Financial planning application and send it to Hyperion and reconcile the data between the two systems

 

Innovations – Custom Utility Tools

 

·               Master data generation tool: Created Custom Program to generate Master data file automatically from any DSO. Program is dynamic and can generate files like Vendor, Plant, Products etc

·               Custom data manager tool: Created Dynamic Program to load data into BPC. This program can be used to load master data from any flat file into BPC Dimensions and also transaction data from any DSO into BPC Application. This tool has capability to send emails to users to package status (Success, Warning or Error)

In the absence of the customer exit, the report hits all the constituent data targets of the multiprovider and hence slow-down in performance.
